New York City,  "The Big Apple" is located on the Atlantic coast between Boston and Philadelphia   It is one of the most populous metropolitan areas in the world. New York City has a significant impact on global commerce, finance, media, culture, art, fashion, research, education, and entertainment.  New York traces its roots to the 1624 it's founding as New Amsterdam  by Dutch colonists. The city and its surrounds came under English control in 1664 and was renamed New York.  New York served as the capital of the United States from 1785 until 1790. It has been the country's largest city since 1790,  The city's five boroughs offer many districts and landmarks that are well known world wide. They include, the Statue of Liberty greeted millions of immigrants as they came to America. Times Square, the brightly illuminated hub of the Broadway theater the city's busiest pedestrian intersections,  center of the world's entertainment industry. New York City's financial district, anchored by Wall Street in Lower Manhattan, vies with London as the financial capital of the world is home to the New York Stock Exchange.  Manhattan's skyline with its many skyscrapers is universally recognized, and the city has been home to several of the tallest buildings in the world.  New York City offers is world center for the arts and offers some of the worlds greatest museums.  Come inside to see and experience all the New York City has to offer.
